William E. Reece Jr.

He was born on April 20, 1939 to the late William E. Reece Sr. and Exie Richie Reece in Catawba County. William was a USMC Veteran and also owner/operator of Reece & Associates Tax and Business Services where he served the Hickory area for 50 years. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Sherman Reece. Survivors include his wife, Martha Ikerd Reece of the home; sons, William Keith Reece of Hickory, Byron Wesley Reece of Bethlehem; step-son, Thomas “Tom” L. Lail II and wife Doraine of Newton and grandchildren, Tayler Ann Lail and Zoey Katelin Lail. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Hickory Funeral Home. A graveside inurnment will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain. Pastor Ralph Kraft will be officiating the service.
