VIRGINIA LOUISE “JENNY” CRAIG HICKORY - Virginia Louise “Jenny” Craig, 25 of Hickory went home to be with her Lord and family on October 7, 2017 at her home. Born on September 14, 1992 in Forsyth County, she was the daughter of Brooks and Lesley “Lea” Gleason Craig. Jenny was a special and inspirational young woman who touched many lives. She graduated Fred T. Foard in 2010. Jenny loved Carolina Panthers, country music, NASCAR, Ohio State Football, and especially her family. At five years old Jenny was the March of Dimes Ambassador for Catawba County. She was a Make A Wish kid who got to be Grand Marshall at the Michigan 400. Jenny was an Ace and TJ Grin kids who went to Disney World in 2001. She participated in Walkin’ Roll Activities League, where she bowled, played T ball, and swam for the past twenty years. Jenny was preceded in death by her grandmother, Virginia Craig; grandfathers, Robert Craig, Frances Gleason; cousin, Allen Ray Coulter Jr. Jeremy Coulter, infant cousin; uncle, James Gleason; and aunt, Terry Hess. Survivors include her parents, Brooks and Lesley “Lea” Craig of the home; grandmother, Louise Gleason of OH; aunts and uncles, Gloria and Allen Coulter, Bill and Ruth Savina, Bob and Peg Craig, Anita Devlin, Mike Craig, Paul and Annette Burson, Tammy Gleason; sixteen cousins; and numerous other family and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 1 PM at Catawba Funerals & Cremations. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 7-9 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to The Shriners, Make A Wish, or Spina Bifida Association as well as the Walkin’ Roll Activities League. Condolences may be left at www.catawbamemorialpark.com.
