She was born on January 31, 1936 in Catawba County. Shirley loved her flower gardens, puzzle books, and fish pond. She thoroughly enjoyed watching the humming birds as they came to the feeder she would prepare for them. Shirley also loved her precious fur-baby, Princess.
Along with her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Lawrence Huffman; son, Glenn Ray Huffman; son, D.J. Sine, a sister, and two brothers.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Deborah Ann Huffman of Hickory, Doris Jean Lowman and husband Steve of Hickory; son, Dennis Alan Huffman and wife Shane of Hickory; grandchildren, Nicole Ray Lowman Spencer, Calvin Alan Lowman, Gary Alan Huffman, Jessica Lynn Huffman Spivey, Jackie Nicole Huffman, April Huffman, Tommy Ray Huffman; twelve great grandchildren; sisters, Attalee Robbins of Hickory, Barbara Ann Leinweber of Oregon, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Hickory Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hickory Funeral Home. Pastor Paul Christ and Bishop Dennis Pitts will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery,5759 Bolick Rd, Claremont, NC 28610.
Pallbearers for the service will include; Calvin A. Lowman, Gary Huffman, Evan Travis, Scott Hefner, Cory Worden, and Calvin R. Lowman.
