Shirley Bolick Goodson

Newton - Shirley Bolick Goodson 72, went home to be with the Lord on August 5, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on October 14, 1946 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Ray Franklin Bolick and Willie Lee Punch. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.

As well as her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Chris Goodson of 54 years and her sister, Alice Sipe.

Survivors include, 2 daughters, Gina Bumgarner and husband Anthony, Angie Graupmann; a granddaughter, Kasey Ballard and husband Victor Ballard, Jr., a grandson, Eric Evans and wife Kasey; a great-granddaughter, Makayla Ballard; 2 brothers, Arthur Bolick and wife Nieves, Michael Bolick and a sister, Jeanette Bowman.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 12 pm with Pastor Joey Williams officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11 am to 12 pm prior to the service.
