Samuel Wayne Coleman

HICKORY----Samuel Wayne Coleman, 53, passed away Monday, April 27, 2015 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Wayne was born October 31, 1961 in Rockbridge Co., Va to the late Samuel Nelson and Emma Marie Tolley Coleman. In addition to his parents, also preceding him in death was his brother-in-law, Johnny Goodwin. He was a member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church and was an employee of Hancock and Moore for nearly 30 years, where he took pride in his work and a dedicated supervisor. Wayne was a devoted husband and father. A true family man, always being there, his happiest times were the ones spent with his family. His children were his pride and joy, he will be deeply missed. Surviving is his wife, Melinda Starnes Coleman; daughter, Lashae Coleman of the home; son Adam Coleman of the home; brothers, William Lynn Coleman and wife, Deborah of Woodleaf, NC, David Lee Coleman of Natural Bridge, VA and Harold Nelson Coleman and wife, Joyce of Greenville, NC; sisters, Cathy Goodwin of Natural Bridge, VA and Doris Jean Lipscomb and husband, John of Glassgow, VA. Left to cherish his memory also is Melinda’s family, who loved Wayne not only as an in-law but as a true son, brother and uncle. Services will be Friday, May 1, at 3:00 P. M. at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Johnson, Pastor Bill Millinor and Pastor Chris Meade officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, May 1, from 1:00 – 2:45 P. M. at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, 9042 NC 127 Hwy, Hickory, N.
