Ruth Elizabeth Zucker

Hickory- Ruth Elizabeth Cline Zucker, 99 years, 5 months, and 25 days old of Hickory passed away at Catawba Regional Hospice at 10:05 p.m. Saturday night on February 25, 2017. Ruth was born August 27, 1917 in Catawba County and was the daughter of Claude Calvin and Lydia Estelle Pitts Cline. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Abraham Zucker who passed away on Ground Hog’s Day February 2, 1974. Ruth and Abraham Zucker were married May 11, 1946. Abraham Zucker served in the military as CWO USMC (retired) Ruth was a home maker and had no children. She was also preceded in death by two brothers; Kenneth George Cline and Charles Vertis Cline and two sisters; Violet Mae Cline Wall and Rebecca Lee Cline Clark all of Hickory. Survivors include one sister Mary Madean Cline Hayward of Hickory, also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 in the Chapel of Catawba Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Greg Bartram of Day Spring Church of God will be officiating the services. Burial will follow the service immediately at Catawba Memorial Park.
