Ms. Ruby Guest

HICKORY – Ruby Reid Guest, 94, of Hickory passed away on November 11, 2015. Born on February 2, 1921 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late John Randolph and Rosa Simpson Reid. Ruby was a member of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church for 68 years. She was a homemaker, played the piano, enjoyed sketching, and loved to read. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Harold L. Guest; sisters, Annie Mae Reid, Rosa Parham, Elizabeth Taylor, and Maude Link; brothers, John Reid, William (Bill) Reid. Survivors include her daughter, Donna Moser and husband C.E. of Hickory; son, David Guest and wife Susan of Hickory; grandchildren, Kevin Moser and wife Mandi of Hickory, Trey Moser and wife Anne of Hickory; great-grandchildren, Lauren Moser, Luke Moser, Jackson Moser, Dylan Moser, Mason Moser; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 3 PM at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Fritz officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2-3 PM at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 629 8th St NE, Hickory, NC 28601.
