Roger Keith Ledford

REV. ROGER LEDFORD Rev. Roger Keith Ledford, 56, went to be with his loving Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at his residence. He was born on June 22, 1960 to the late James “Bud” Ledford and Colleen Spainhour and was lovingly raised by his grandparents, the late Sam and Ainer Pope. In addition he was preceded in death by a special uncle, Ray Pope. He worked in the trucking industry for most of his life and had served as Pastor of Harvest Baptist Church in Hickory and Vine Arden Baptist Church of Morganton. He is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Kathy Phillips Ledford; a son, Keith James Ledford; and a grandson, Kory Ledford. He had two sister, Jamie Ledford and Billie Fredell and her husband Don. In addition he leaves behind a special aunt, Teresa Pope, a brother-in-law, Johnny Jones of Clyde, NC; sisters-in-law, Loretta Phillips with Carl Lowman of Rhodhiss; and Barbara Conger and husband Larry of Hildebran; Jeanne Gause and husband, Larry of Myrtle Beach, SC. He leave numerous nieces and nephews in addition to close cousins, Gene Pope, Todd Pope, Jack Brittian and wife Leta; and Terri Lail and her husband, Boyd. Roger has a special “adopted mother”, Virginia Burgin of Vale and his best friend, Rev. Ronnie Watts of Hildebran whom he loved dearly. The family will have a “Celebration of Life” at Drowning Creek Baptist Church on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 11 AM with Rev. Ronnie Watts and Deacon Larry Conger officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 AM. The family is being served by Catawba Funeral Home.
