Robert Olen Travis

Hickory - Robert Olen Travis, 76, passed away May 18, 2015 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Olen was born February 28, 1939 in Caldwell Co. to the late Eulen and Beulah Benson Travis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Rob Travis; two sisters, Ruth Cloninger and Ruby Eller and a brother, Joby McCrary. He was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church, ELCA and had worked for Hickory Paper Box before becoming disabled.

Surviving is his wife, Joyce Dellinger Travis; daughter, Kim Webb and husband, Jon of Taylorsville; granddaughter, Mackenzie Patton of Taylorsville; grandson, Bobby Travis and wife, Brandy of Hickory; great granddaughters, Emma and Alexis of Hickory; sisters, Kathleen Bolick and husband, Ray of Hickory and Peggy Travis of Hickory and a brother, Tony Travis of Vale, NC. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, May 20, from 3:00 until 4:15 P. M. at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, ELCA. Services will be Wednesday, May 20, at 4:30 P. M. at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, ELCA with Rev. John Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Stephens Lutheran Church, ELCA, 2259 12th.
