Robert David Dellinger

Bob was born on April 17, 1945 in Catawba County to the late William Eugene and Annie Mae Herman Dellinger. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother Billy Herman Dellinger and sister Emma Jean Palumbo. He was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church Missouri-Synod , he was an Eagle Scout and after serving time in the US Marines in Vietnam, he was also NC State Highway Patrolman for 7 years before he started his own business as founder of General Service Company which he operated until his retirement. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Nancy Ellis Dellinger of the home, two sons, Robert David Dellinger Jr. and wife Stephanie of Cary, NC, Russell “Rusty” Damon Dellinger and wife Stacy of Hickory. The family will receive friends on Wednesday November 12th 2014 from 2:30 PM until 3:30 PM at Hickory Funeral Home.
