Born in Mitchell County on June 24, 1969, he was the son of Hazel Louise Bartlett Bishop and the late Edgar Stanley Bishop.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his brothers Kenneth Greene and Danny Greene and a nephew Matthew Greene.
Robert worked for the City of Hickory for 31 years. He started out in Landscaping and moved up to positions in Parks and Recreation ending his career as Maintenance Supervisor for Parks and Recreation. He did lots of work on the Zara Baker Park and many other parks around the city.
Robert loved to go fishing with friends and family. He also loved grilling and cooking. He was a good and gentle person who loved his family. He loved and helped his mother as she was growing older. We will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his mother Hazel Bishop; his brother Mark Bishop and wife Kim of Taylorsville; sisters Nita Greene of Hickory and Dinah Herman of Newton; sister-in-law Jacqueline Greene of Hickory; nieces and nephews Avery Bishop of Raleigh, Rachel Bishop of Taylorsville, Clay Greene of Taylorsville, William Davis of Hickory, Denise Trivette of Hickory and Dawn Paz of Hickory.
Memorial service will be held Friday, February 26, 2021 at 1:00pm at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kenny Robison officiating.
