Ray Berry

HICKORY— Ray Berry, 75 passed away January 16, 2017 at his residence. Ray was born on April 3, 1941 in Yancey County to the late Charlie Earl Berry and Della Bryant Berry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Neva Silvers and sister-in-law Wanda Berry. Ray was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betsy Lail Berry of the home; sons Terry Berry and wife Tracie, and Michael Berry; granddaughters Miranda Hicks, Summer Breeze Berry and Brooke Berry; great grandchildren Arionna Geter and Jeremiah Geter all of Hickory; sisters June, Lillian and husband Dolph and Mildred and husband S.W., and brothers Gene and wife Mattie and Ted all of Burnsville. Visitation will be Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm at Faith Tabernacle Church. Funeral service will be Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Faith Tabernacle Church with Reverend Eugene Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
