Peggy Lee Williams Shields, 77 of Bethlehem, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 7th, 2024, at Abernethy Laurels Retirement Community in Newton.
Born on October 24th, 1947, in Guilford County, NC, Peggy was the daughter of the late Joseph Edgar Williams, Jr. and Helen Hargett Williams. Peggy was an active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, reading and going out to eat. One of her favorite places to visit was North Myrtle Beach with her family. Her proudest title was “Nana.” She was loved by her family and community and her memory will be cherished.
Those left to cherish her memory include, her 2 daughters, Lindsey Jo Spinks and husband, Wesley and Caroline Rietz and husband, Kevin; 3 grandchildren, Piper and Ryder Spinks and Abigail Rietz; her 2 sisters, Rebecca Tyndall and husband, Ron and Brenda Card and husband, Dave and her brother, Robert Williams and wife, Martha.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Bethlehem Baptist Church on Thursday, November 14th, 2024, at 1:00 pm with Pastors Dean Chambers and Ron Tyndall officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Peggy’s name to The Alexander County Animal Shelter or The American Cancer Society Brain Cancer Foundation.
