Born in Catawba County, on April 3, 1942, he was the son of the late Paul Thompson Canipe Sr, and Bessie Berryhill Canipe.
In addition to his parents, his sister Ethel Gross preceded him in death.
Paul served in the Army and was overseas for tours in both Korea and Vietnam. He worked as a mechanic in his early years and then spent more than 30 years as a fixer in several local hosiery mills. He was a hard worker, taking care of the people he loved. He was a devoted husband, father, son and brother.
Wife Renay Punch Canipe of the home; his daughter, Brooke Ross and husband Roy of Conway, SC; grandchildren Bryce Ross and Lily Ross; sisters Elizabeth Mathis, Carrie Vanhorn, Patricia Brown, and Brenda Tarchala, and a brother Carroll Canipe survive him.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Catawba Memorial Park. Burial will follow at cemetery.
