Patricia Ann Houser

Conover - Patricia Ann Houser, 72, of Conover went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Frye Regional Medical Center.

Born on August 26, 1949 in Burke County, she was the daughter of the late Delbert Harrison and Annie Blanche Barnes Gates. Pat was very active in her church and the Republicans Women’s Club. She loved the beach, her family and friends. She always told you that she loved you anytime you spoke with her. Pat was loved by her family and friends and will be truly missed.

In addition to her parents, Patricia is preceded in death by a step-father Kent Erwin; 2 sisters Kimmie Elizabeth Gates and Mary Sue Williams; a brother Larry O’Neil Gates.

She is survived by her husband James Franklin Houser, Jr.; a daughter Teresa Roark and husband Johnny; a granddaughter Alyssa Jones and husband Ryan; a mother-in-law Shirley Houser; 2 sisters-in-law Vickie Eckard and husband Dennis, and Pam Wood; 3 nieces Kimberly Finney and husband Jonathon, Lannie Hoffman and husband Scott, and Shannon Gates; 3 nephews Larry Gates, Adam Gates and Mel Hyder, as well as several other family members, all of whom she loved dearly.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Sunday, March 27th at 2:00 pm with Pastor Nicky Waters officiating. The family will receive friends after the service for a short time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catawba County Republican Women’s Club in Patricia’s name.
