Mr. Odis Hugh "Bud" Shull

VALE- Odis Hugh “Bud” Shull, 74, met his Lord personally at age 12 and met him face to face on , Sunday July 10th, 2011 at Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley after a period of declining of declining health..

Bud was born on January 8th,1937 in Catawba Co. to the late Charlie Odis and Emma Houser Shull. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sue Thackerson and Betty Duckworth. .

Bud was a member of Palm Tree United Methodist Church .He was a retired farmer and owner-operator of Shull Logging.

Surviving are his wife: Ruth Rhoney Shull of the home, two sons, Wayne Shull and wife Donna of Vale, Michael “Pete” Shull and wife, Amber of Vale, a daughter, Robin Norman and husband Michael of Vale, three grandsons, Jonathan Rhoney and wife Christie of Vale, Nicholas Shull of Vale, Noah Shull of Vale, a granddaughter. Bethany Shull of Vale, and three sisters, Linda Canipe and husband, Wilford of Vale, Catherine Cook of Fallston and Ruth Lail of Newton.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 12th , at 11:00 AM at Palm Tree United Methodist Church in Vale. with the Reverends Steven Porter and Lloyd King officiating.

Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM at Hickory Funeral Home.
