Nettie Lynn Berry won her valiant fight with brain cancer on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at home with Hospice Carolina Caring. Mrs. Berry, 89, was born on December 4, 1932, in Hickory, North Carolina to the late Eugene Levi Lynn and Fannie Hildebran Lynn. She attended Mt. View School and built a career in the hosiery manufacturing industry. She attended and loved singing in the choir at Royal Chapel Church of God. Over the years she did a lot of community service, helping as many families as she could, and visiting and singing at nursing homes.
In addition to her parents, Nettie was preceded in death by her husband Marshall Berry, sisters Myrtle Dowell, Ellen Young, Francis Price, Mary Young, Bettie Jane Lynn, Millie Lynn Adams, and brothers infant Jimmy Lynn, Floyd Lynn, Pete Lynn, Cecil Lynn, and Joe Lynn. She is survived by one sister, Carel Lynn Shipman and husband Larry; her daughter Gail Berry Migielicz, son-in-law Steven Migielicz and his sister Kathe` Migielicz Walker, son Kenny Berry and wife Jeanie Winkler Berry, all of Hickory. 4 grandchildren, Frank Migielicz and wife Tina of Raleigh, NC, Pete Migielicz and wife Jessica of Hickory, NC, Marcy Berry of Hickory, NC Jason Berry and wife Marietta of Conover, NC. 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson, brother-in-law David Berry and wife Martha, brother-in-law Nathan Bean; sister-in-law Kay Berry Ramirerz and husband Bill, brother-in-law C.B. Adams, brother-in-law Wayne Price, and sister-in-law Pam Lynn, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held, Sunday December 4, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Royal Chapel Church of God, on George Hildebran School Road, Hickory, NC.
