Mary Elizabeth "Susie" Benfield Sigmon

Susie was born August 27, 1931 in Buncombe Co. to the late Rob and Maude Benfield.

N addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Alice Davis and two bro-in-laws, Blake Davis and Alan Flowers.

She was a member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church and retired from J. C. Penney’s.

Surviving are her husband, Carl L. Sigmon of the home, her sons; Gary Sigmon of Boone and Alan Sigmon and wife, Donna of Lenoir, 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, sisters; Bobbie Flowers of Hickory, Doris Mckiel and husband, Jim of Germantown, MD, Dinah Couch and husband, Bob of Staunton, VA and Peggy Couch and husband, Gary of Staunton, VA, brothers; Roy Benfield and wife, Bobbie of Hickory, Richard Benfield and wife, Kristine of Newton and Bobby Thomas of Orlando, FL

Memorial services will be Monday, December 26, 2011, at 3:00 P. M. at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church with Reverend Steve Johnson and Reverend Jim Evans officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday from 1:45 – 2:45 P. M. at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church.
