Mary Lee (Killian) Black

She was born November 4, 1933 in Hickory, NC to parents Walter A. Killian and Nora Bausch Killian.

She is survived by her daughter Karen Townsend and husband Larkin; grandchildren Katherine (Niki) LaRose and husband Jory, Michael Black and wife Ashley, as well as Joshua Coulter; great grandchildren Sophie, Nora, Stella, Kylian, Journee, Nick and Trevor; former son-in-law Donnie Coulter and daughter-in-law Angie Peeler; and brother George Killian.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Don S. Black Sr., her son Don S. Black Jr., and her siblings Doris, Robert, and Frankie.

Her Celebration of Life will be held at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church of Hickory on Saturday March 16, 2024 at 2:00pm. Anyone wishing to pay their respects may do so prior to Mary’s Celebration of Life from 12:45-1:45pm.

A private inurnment will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Caring Hospice House at 3975 Robinson Rd, Newton, NC 28658 or Mt. Olive Lutheran Church at 2780 N. Center St., Hickory, NC 28601.
