CONOVER - Martha Ann McDaniel Wright passed away peacefully into the arms of her Savior Thursday, February 24th, 2022.
She was born in Kings Mountain on July 16, 1936 and was the daughter of the late John Dixon “Dixie” McDaniel and Annie Lee Dixon McDaniel. She was a faithful member of East Hickory Church where she served for 54 years. She loved serving in the nursery and loving on all the babies. There was nothing Martha could not do once she set her mind to it. She was a talented cake decorator, an excellent seamstress and she had a green thumb when it came to flowers and gardening. She also enjoyed crocheting to pass the time. She worked approximately 50 years at Carolina Mills and finally retired at the age of 82.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Wright, brothers, Glenn McDaniel, Clyde McDaniel, infant brother Gene, Naaman McDaniel, Charles McDaniel, Bill McDaniel, Gerald McDaniel, sisters, Josephine Sellers, Sarah Stroupe, Helen Roberts, Ruth Sanders, and daughter-in-law Connie Wright.
Survivors include sons, Troy Wright, Larry Wright (Phyllis), Alan Wright (Jill), grandchildren, Jeremy Wright, Chad Wright, Mandi Blackburn, Matthew Wright, Andrew Wright, Ashley Parker, Spencer Wright, Madison Wright, brothers, Roger McDaniel, Durwood McDaniel, great grandchildren, Nathaniel Adams, Brooklynn Blackburn, Gage Wright, Jordan Wright, Haley Younce, Trent Stanfield, Lyric Stanfield and her Trinity Village Shepard House family whom she loved very much.
A celebration of life service will be held at East Hickory Church on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 11 am with Pastor Mark Schmitz and Pastor Joel Frye officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park with the grandsons serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 am – 11am at the church.
