Mark "Stovepipe" Stephen Sigmon

Mark “Stovepipe” Stephen Sigmon, 66 of Newton passed away on Monday, March 11th, 2024.

Born on February 10th, 1958 in Catawba County, NC, Mark was the son of the late Chester Alexander and Pearl Yount Shook Sigmon. Mark was an avid car enthusiast and loved working on, collecting and restoring vintage cars. He had a love for racing. He had an amazing sense of humor and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was one of a kind. Mark was loved by his family and will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death, his brother, Larry Wayne Sigmon, Sr.; his nephew, Larry Wayne Sigmon, Jr., and his brother-in-law, Charles Miller.

Those left to cherish his memory include, his daughter Natasha Leanne Sigmon Nunez and husband Nick Nunez; his wife of 27 years, Dana Myers Sigmon; his sister, Virginia Sigmon Miller; his brother, Eugene Franklin Sigmon and wife Mary Lou Sigmon; his nephew, Scott Franklin Sigmon; wife of late brother, Cynthia Moir Sigmon; his niece, Stephanie Sigmon Eggers and husband Tab Eggers; his nephews, Christian Eggers, Noah Eggers, and Gabriel Eggers; his niece, Kandice Shae Sigmon and nephews, Brenton Frasure and Zachary Frasure; grandchildren, Madison Paige Sigmon Murphy, Hunter Gage Bradley, Landen Scott Bradley, and great grandchildren, Whitley Raine Murphy, Remington Grey Murphy, and Memphis Wayne Murphy.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Thursday, March 21st, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jeff Brown officiating. Burial will follow at St. Stephens Lutheran Church M.S. at 2304 Springs Rd. NE, Hickory, NC 28601.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
