Margaret Beth Lane Bruner

Hickory – Margaret Beth Lane Bruner, 69, passed away July 13 after a brief illness. Margaret was born September 11, 1943 in Catawba County to the late Emmitt Luther Lane Jr and Gerogia Doris Seaboch Lane. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Judith Arden Lane Lindsay and a brother-in-law, Thomas Warren Lindsay, all of Hickory. Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Johnny Bruner of the home; two daughters, Lori Reitzel of Cramerton, Deborah Deitz and husband Jimmy Dietz of Hickory; also her son David Reitzel and wife Shelley both of Hickory. Margaret also leaves a sister Janice Lane Willard and Husband Jerry of Maiden. Grand children include: Stetson Lee Clarke, Heather Reitzel and fiancé Nathan Spears, David Reitzel Jr., Dillon Reitzel and fiancé Katie Reape, London Adair Dietz, Eva Nicole Dietz, James Jared Dietz, and great grandchildren Kinsley Spears, Preston Spears and Addelyn Reitzel.Margaret was an employee of over 30 years with the former Phil’s Pharmacy in down town Hickory. As the manager of the lunch counter , Margaret provided the ultimate in customer service and caring for each and every customer. Her unconditional love for all patrons, her amazing sense of humor, her incredible efficiency had customers returning day after day. Her love of music, movies, and Hollywood trivia contributed to a daily experience that people of all walks of life came to appreciate. As a member of Zion Lutheran Church she headed the hospitality committee and served as Sunday school teacher. Margaret truly demonstrated a loving human spirit toward all people. She will be remembered by all of those whose life she touched. A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 20 at 3:00 PM at Christ Church, Mountain View Campus with Pastor Jesse Smith and Pastor Morgan Adams officiating.
