Macre Teague, 76, passed away Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center after a period of declining health. Macre was born July 31, 1938 in Catawba County, to the late Jay and Lula Mae Fisher Teague. He was a member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church where he served as chairman of deacons, head usher and a member of Fallen Heroes group. He retired from Hickory Mfg. after 38 years. Surviving are his wife, Eva Stamey Teague; son, Kent Lee Teague and wife, Tracy of Rutherfordton; granddaughter, Olivia Leigh Teague Morgan and husband Cory of Shelby; grandson, Benjamin David Teague of Rutherfordton; brothers, Larry Gene Teague and wife, Linda of Hickory and Richard Van Teague and wife, Marshalein of Hickory; and a sister, Jeanette T. Ridley and husband, Frank of Hickory. The family will receive friends today (Tuesday, Dec. 30), from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. at Hickory Funeral Home. Services will be held today at 3:30 p.m. in the Mausoleum of Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Dr. Dale Watts and the Rev. Homer Greene officiating. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made for Crystal Dawn Teague Class of l991 Scholarship fund, St. Stephens High School, 3205 34th. St. Dr., NE, Hickory, NC 28601.
