HICKORY – Lloyd Alan“Nookie” Lail, 61 of Hickory and formerly of Spencer Road N.E. and was known as the man on the bike who waved at all passersby passed away on Saturday August 14th 2010 at Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley following a period of declining health.
Alan was born on November 2nd 1948 in Catawba County to the late Ernest Lloyd and Doreen Matthews Lail.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Gary Lail.
Alan was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church Mo Synod.
Survivors include a brother; Michael Dean Lail of Maiden and a sister Frances Lail Thompson of Hickory and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Monday August 16th 2010 at St. Stephens Lutheran Church MO Synod with the Reverend David Guelzow and Reverend David Ziehr officiating.
The family will receive friends following the Memorial service at the church.
