Linda Little Riley, age 73 of Hickory went home to the lord on Monday, October 17, 2016. She was born in Taylorsville on December 17, 1942, to J.D. & Lucy Richey Little and lived in Alexander and Catawba Counties her entire life. Linda worked for many years at J.P. Stevens and then with West Point Stevens in Longview and completed her career in the textile industry as an Instructor.
Linda is survived by her children, Diana Hildebran and husband Carlie of Taylorsville and Tony Atkins and wife Mary of Connelly Springs; stepchildren, Gene Riley, Jr. and wife Kim of Hickory, Kathy Frizzell and husband Rick of Vale, Scott Riley of Longview and Lisa Ritchie and husband Michael of Longview; siblings, Phyllis Shuping of Greensboro, Lorene Reid and husband Tom of Greenville, North Carolina and James Little and wife Deb of Taylorsville; grandchildren, Gary Childers and wife Erica of Hickory, Eric Childers and wife Lauren of Hiddenite, Taylor Welch and husband Phillip of Claremont and Alexa Atkins of Connelly Springs; step grandchildren, Matt Riley, Chris Riley, Lyndsey Riley, Mike Riley, Kristel Lingerfelt and husband Randy, Kenny Reed, Misty Reed, James Ritchie and Adam Ritchie all of Hickory and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her husbands, Arthur Russell Atkins and Ernest Eugene Riley, Sr. and siblings, Ronnie, Donnie, Jerry and Larry.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Catawba Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Byers officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Linda’s memorial to National Prion Disease Surveillance Center, Case Western University Institute of Pathology, 2085 Adelbert Road, room 419, Cleveland, OH 44106.
