MORGANTION – Kay Webb, 82 of Morganton passed away on November 12, 2024.
Born on May 12, 1942 in Burke County to the late Clarence Roger and Helen Bufford Stephens. Kay was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church, where she spent many years serving in the nursery. Kay was an amazing cook and baker, and always had a fresh-baked pound cake or platter of cookies in her kitchen. She also enjoyed sewing, and working outside with her husband, Ray. She was known as “Mama Kay” by many, as Kay was a mother figure and caretaker to anyone who walked through her door.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Brooke Weisner and Izaach Lovelace.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 66 years, Ray T. Webb; children, Stephen Webb and companion Patty, Diane McLean and husband Norman, Scott Webb and wife Tiffany, and Barbara Sexton and husband Scott; grandchildren, Brian Webb, Melody Bargsley, Josh Benfield, Andrew Webb, Morgan Webb, Cameron Nieters, Danielle Nieters; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Donna Carswell, Judy Rodgers, Butch Stephens and wife Sandy; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 4 PM at Oak Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Chaplain Daphne Taylor officiating. Burial will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Burke County.
