HICKORY---Katherine Irene Brown Ledford, 80, passed away May 3, 2015 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.Katherine was born Oct. 1, 1934 in Catawba Co. to the late Clifton Odell and Braskie Lee Anna Hicks Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Earl Ledford; brothers, Marshall Brown, Gene Brown and Randy Brown and a sister Peggy Brown Greene. Surviving is a daughter, Vanessa Ledford Page of Newton; sons, Richard Odell Ledford of Hickory and Roger Allen Ledford of Hickory; brother, William Brown of Evington, VA; sisters, Faye Brittain of Hickory, Dorothy Hedrick and husband, Claude of Conover, Ruby Auton of Vale and Dolly Lail and husband, Melvin of Vale; Judy Whitt, cousin and close friend and a number of nieces and nephews.Services will be Thursday, May 7, at 2:00 P. M. at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darren Pennell officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends Thursday, May 7, from 12:45 – 1:45 P.
