She was born on May 14, 1933 to the late Foy Travis and Lorene Travis in Catawba County. Joyce was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McKinney and son, Steve McKinney.
Survivors include her daughter, Tonya Sheehan and husband Danny of Auburndale, FL; grandchildren, Natasha McCarson and husband Marc of Columbia, SC, Rosalyn Pitts and husband Brandon of Gresham, SC, Kylee Whittington and husband Brian of Myrtle Beach, SC, Chad McKinney and wife Anette of Hickory, Tyler McKinney and wife Cassey of Conover; five great grandchildren; and sister, Pam Hand and husband Bobby of Taylorsville.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 11:00 am at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church. Rev. Scott Bollinger will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Zion Lutheran Church.
