Jimmy Dean Hull, 79, of Hickory, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Frye Regional Medical Center. He was born in Lincoln County, NC, to the late D. Charles Hull and Alice May Canipe Hull. He was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He retired from ABF formerly Carolina Freight in 1999. He was employed with them for 31 years. Jimmy served in the United States Army and the Vietnam War. He was a member of American Legion Post 48 for 52 years.
Jimmy had a passion for playing golf, enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchild.
After retirement he enjoyed doing word search puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, eating Little Debbie Zebra Cakes and tending to his late dog, a pug named Gracie.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 55 years Dorothy Louise Hull, one daughter Christine Fulbright, one son Jimmy Lowell Hull and wife Sherry Hull, three grandchildren, Josh Fulbright and wife Tonya, Alisha Sorenson, Brittany Fulbright and fiancé Josh Peregoy, one great grandchild Ryley Sorenson and one brother Harold Hull and wife Janice.
Services for Mr. Hull will be private. Sheldon Mellon will be officiating the service.
