HICKORY- Jimmy Wayne Huffman, 87 of Hickory passed away, Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Frye Regional Medical Center.

Born in Catawba County on July 19, 1935, he was the son of the late Ross and Rena Lafone Huffman.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Faye Laporte and Theda Reinhardt and his brother Bobby Lee Huffman.

Jimmy was a member of Sandy Ridge Wesleyan Church. He worked in hosiery industry his whole life as a color chemist and enjoyed working outside in his yard.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years Jo Anne Beard Huffman of the home; a daughter Kim Huskey and husband Barry; grandchildren Laura Long and husband Jonathan of Hickory, and Coleman Huskey and wife Kara of Greenville, SC; great grandchildren Emma and Mason Long of Hickory; sister Gail Jonas of Hickory; sister-in-laws Madge Huffman and Alice Miller.

The family will receive friends Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sandy Ridge Wesleyan Church.
