Janet (Starnes) Hedrick

Born in Catawba County on May 27, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Glenn V. Starnes and Mary Starnes.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her grandparents Russell V. and Viola Starnes and Burey and Maude Arney.

Jan was an active member of Westview United Methodist Church serving as church secretary along with many other positions. She was employed by the Central and Centel Telephone Company for 23 years. She retired from the Hickory City School System as secretary of the Viewmont and South West Elementary Schools.

She is survived by her husband Steve Hedrick of the home; daughters Erica Lingerfelt and husband Kevin of Hickory and Erin Harbinson and husband Chris of Raleigh; and her brother Robert Starnes. The love of her life was her grandchildren, Kaden Lingerfelt, Avree Lingerfelt, Cate Harbinson and Ella Harbinson.

Private graveside service was held at Catawba Memorial Park.

Memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 20, 2121 at Westview United Methodist Church at 11:00 am with Reverend Ronald Pete Ross and Reverend Charlene Hutchings officiating.
