Jane Laverne Sheets

Hildebran – Jane Laverne Sheets, 69 of Hildebran went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at her home, following a lengthy battle from cancer.

Born on May 18, 1952 in Johnson City, TN, she was the daughter of the late Gene and Eula Hicks Barnes. Jane was of the apostolic faith, she loved gospel music and singing. She also loved spending time with her family and cooking for them. She enjoyed the outdoors and looked forward to setting out plants and flowers, as well as putting up a large display of Christmas lights.

In addition to her parents, Jane is preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Jesse Sheets.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Jennifer Willix and fiancé Von Hamby, of Hickory and Jeanette Sheets of the home; her most loved and treasured grandchildren, Austin Liner of the home, Cody Willix of Newton; 3 sisters, Judy Sheets of Vale, Deborah Smith of Conover, and Angela Wandell and husband James of Elizabethton, TN; 2 brothers, Dallas Barnes of Johnson City, TN, and Douglas Barnes of Drexel; former son-in-law, David Willix of Newton and also numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home at 12:00 pm, on Saturday, April 30, 2022 with Pastor Tim Shook officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Autism Society-North Carolina in Jane’s name.
