Tim, I just heard about this from John Vaughn.  What a great guy he was and I am so sorry to hear this.  My sympathies to you and your family.

I am so sorry for your loss. My husband and I have a lot of fond memories of Jim in earlier years. The thing I remember most about Jim was he always had a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed. My brothers Randy and Mtn Davis thought the world of him.

Peace & Love to Jimmy's family.  Jimmy always had a smile and hug for me.  I'll always remember him with a grin and giggle.

So many good times, He painted my first street bike metalflake blue and silver, being in Fla. for the Gator Nationals setting beside the road and up rides Jim, letting me ride the Ricegrinder at Hudson Dragstrip, sand drags at Daytona, going down at Farmington while running back to starting line, sticky note on my helment, 10$ head 10$ helmet , fireworks at the cabin, crashing at Boozy Creek after winning the round, horsepower shootout at AMI, they just keep going on and on. He was one of a kind for sure and will be remembered that way. Prayers for his family as they go thru this difficult time.

Tim, we are so sorry about your Dad. He was a great "motorcycle man',husband, father, & grandfather. May God bless you with wonderful memories that will fill your heart both now and in the future.

  Jim was a old school biker at heart and he would give you the shirt off his back. I'm proud as heck to have known him for the last 20 yrs. Here was his words of wisdom he told me, I shoot straight from the hip and if you don't like it that's your problem, now get out of here, so I can go to work and I'll call you when I get finished up. I hope ole Sport is doing alright, every time I was there I would set on the stool and rub ole Sports head. Jim love that dog. I dropped by one day back and June and ole Sport had been missing and Jim's nerves were shot that morning, and just when I was getting ready to leave Sport started hitting the shop door and when Jim heard Sport he sprang to life ran outside and hugged him and rubbed on him it was something to see. Jim my old Friend I'm gonna miss you. Kenneth Harley Spann

Jim was a true friend for 25 years.  I will be lucky if I can accomplish half of what Jim did in his lifetime.  Ride hard my friend.  You will be missed.

What a bright spirit and sweet man! The motorcycle industry will miss his smile.

My dear Pal,  I have cherished the past ten or so years knowing you. The old jokes, memories, and tall tales of a man who lived it all.  You were just as you said, "the smartest man I'll ever know".  It was such a privilege to turn wrenches, drink magnums, and watch The Price is Right with you.  The times we rode together, to the times we just sat and talked.  You were and always will be my Pal, and my dearest friend.  I will cherish "Ole Blue", Sport and all the knowledge you shared with me. Tim, I'm so sorry. I wanted to be like Jim when I was a kid. He could do anything in my eyes. I remember so well staying at your house and going in the garage just to look at his bikes. Jimi's Jewel, purple and silver metalflake, the soap box derby cars. Everything he touched was perfection. His card tricks, his jokes, the stories, his homemade ice cream. He taught me how to use a paint gun. I went to see him at the shop a while back, and he was the same old Jim, he still had the metalflake jars on the shelf.I'm really going to miss seeing him go by the house in the mornings.I  wish he could have come by my shop, he would have been proud. I tried to be just like him.

I recently had a chance to renew an old friendship with Jim. I thank GOD for the wonderful privilege of knowing this man . He was a very special person.

His love of motorcycling made him part of one huge extended family and his loss will be felt by all that family.  Our sincerest condolences & blessings.

I considered jim to be a close friend.I was blessed to have the experience of working with him at the motorcycle shop.  I will never forget the "OLD INDIAN TRICKS" he shaired with me. YOU WILL NEVER SEE ANOTHER ONE LIKE HIM.   Ellis Whitener

Jimmie was a life long friend of mine. We were at Loy Tallents house overhauling Loys 45 Harley when we got a call telling Jim to get home because Nadine was on her way to have her first son. While flat tracking Jimmie was at the races to help me run good.His passing will leave a big hole in my life.  But now Jim is walking arm in arm with the LORD UP THAT LONG ROAD TO heaven. May GOD keep you and LOVE you forever and ever my friend.Amen

Jim was one of the first people I met when I moved to this area from South Fla. He was a good friend and a great bike mechanic. He always had tips and insight on what I was doing with my old Sportster. He will be missed by many people, not only from this area, but from all over the country. Curt

Always remember Jim from years at Abernethy and then Everett Chevrolet as parts manager. Knew so much about vehicles and was always help to everyone that came in.
