JAMES WILSON MATLOCK HICKORY – James Wilson Matlock, 75 of Hickory passed away on December 4, 2017. Born in Iredell County, he was the son of the late Crowson and Zeb Milstead Matlock. James was a very loving, caring and giving person. He was a Master Mason and Shriner. James was the owner of Yellow Cab Company and Diamond Cab Company of Hickory. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Marvin, Rom, and Albert Matlock. Survivors include his life partner, Linda Rhoney; children, Dawn Matlock Ledford and husband, Michael of Newton, Derrick Matlock and wife, Angie of Newton, grandchildren, Janson Ledford and wife, MaryBeth of Concord, Brandon Ledford and wife, Jessica of Newton, Abbi Matlock, Hailey Matlock, Kendal Matlock of Newton; great-grandson, Barrett Ledford; brother, Harold Matlock, numerous nieces and nephews. A private graveside will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
