James Hunt, 65, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016. James was born April 16, 1951 in Robeson County to the late Noah Hunt and Alice Brayboy. He is also preceded in death by his brother Barney. He worked as a mechanic for Everett Chevrolet for many years and also served his country in the United States Air Force. He is survived by his wife Sherry Moretz Hunt; daughter Diane Hefner and husband Dusty; granddaughter’s Haley Turner and Kayla Hefner; and grandson Jonathan (Jay) Pennell all of Hickory; and stepson, Roger Buchanan. James is also survived by his sisters; Betty, Nada, Betty (Dossie), Ann, Nancy, Katie, Cathy, Nora, and Patsy; and his six brothers; Danny, Tommy, Johnny, Berry, Tony, and Noah, also leaves a number of nieces and nephews all of Robeson County. He is also survived by his two dogs, Trixie and Molly. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 14, 2016 from 12:30pm to 1:45pm at Hickory Funeral Home. The service will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 2:00pm at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jamie Simerly and Reverend Bill Brayboy officiating.
