Jack Blair Bridges

HICKORY – Jack Blair Bridges, 83 of Hickory passed away on June 28, 2022.

Jack was born on July 10, 1938 in Fallston, to the late Robert and Bessie Wright Bridges. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. Jack was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hickory. He retired from Winn Dixie Stores after 44 years. Jack loved his family and working in his yard and garden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Andy Bridges.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 61 years, Mary Ellen Rhoney Bridges; children, Todd Bridges, Shasta Bridges and husband Scott Baker, Ty Bridges and wife Tracy; grandchildren, Anna Bridges, Casey Bridges, Leah Rhoney, Alex Bridges and wife Katie, Quentin Bridges, Trey Bridges, Evan Bridges; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Bingham and husband Billy, Linda Walker and husband Robert, sister-in-law Panola Bridges; numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 1 PM at First United Methodist Church of Hickory with Pastor Paul Christy officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30 AM to 1 PM at the church.
