Irene Butler Repasy

Irene was born March 1, 1924 in Saint Helens, KY to the late Taylor Butler and Gladys Stacy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Repasy who died November 11, 1990, brothers, Donnie Butler, Nevel Butler, Jack Butler and sisters; Carla Roysdon, Wilma Horton, and Hanna May Butler.

Irene was one of the first women to work outside the home in support of WWII. She loved people and continued to work until her late 70’s. She is remembered for her smile and her great sense of humor. She brought laughter and love to the lives of those she knew!

Surviving are a son; Paul Edward Repasy and his wife Paulette of Hickory, Grandsons; Shawn Repasy and wife Corrie of Wilmington, Jason Repasy and wife Rachel of Asheville, Ryan Repasy and wife Crystal of Bethlehem, great-grandchildren Alex, Sophie, Jayden, and Lucas, two sisters; Virginia Craig of Denver, CO, and Sammie Schuler, Lexington, KY and brothers; Charles Butler of Beattyville, KY and Harold Butler of Lexington, KY and many nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held in celebration of Irene’s life.

The family would like to extend their greatest appreciation for the special loving care extended by the staff and caregivers (especially Gail Jonas, Keith Berry, Janie Mast and Chaplin Kim Dowel) of Catawba Regional Hospice.
