Irene was born July 15, 1934 and was the daughter of the late John Henry Wilson and Mary Lou McDaniel Wilson. The widow of Ernest Highsmith, the sister of the late Earl Wilson, and the aunt of the late Dwayne Eplee.
She is survived by her sister, Yvonne Eisenberg and husband Neil of Brevard; brother, Robert “Bobby” Wilson and wife Pat of Fletcher; nephews, Michael Wilson of Fletcher, Darrell Eplee of Virginia; niece, Margie W. Hoell and husband Doug of Fletcher; great nephew, Dillon Eplee of Brevard.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 1 pm at Joy Baptist Church in Conover, NC with Pastor Tim Shook officiating. Burial to follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12 to 12:45pm at the Church.
