Ilah Mae Garavaglia

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Joseph E. Garavaglia and son Bruce A. Garavaglia.

Ilah was an active member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Hickory, NC. A loving wife and mother, she was an active and enthusiastic person that was socially connected to people. Ilah enjoyed cooking, sewing and playing bridge and could be described as a person that was well liked and enjoyed company. She was an active resident at Pinecrest, Independent Senior Living in Hickory. As a military wife of 23 years, she learned many skills that remained with her throughout the years. Ilah was an avid lifelong learner.

Family that will cherish her memory are daughter, Vanda (Marshall) Howard; grandchildren, Joseph A. Garavaglia, Christen Garavaglia Robinson, Lauren Howard, Robert (Ashley) Howard, Savannah (Rob) Williamson, Dominic Garavaglia; and many great grandchildren.

A celebration of the life of Ilah Garavaglia will be Friday, November 17, 2023 at 2pm, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 921 2nd St. NE, Hickory, NC. Officiating will be Father Larry LoMonaco. An inurnment will follow at the church columbarium.
