Helen Styles Ramsey

Helen Mona Styles Ramsey, 95, of Hickory, passed away on May 24, 2017 at Abernethy Laurels in Newton. Born September 18, 1921 in Yancey County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Delzie Styles and Roxana Ray Styles. Helen was a member of Viewmont Baptist Church and a member of Alpha Delta Kappa. She was a retired school teacher, who taught at Grandview Jr. High and Hickory High School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Walter Ramsey, Jr; son, Robert Walter Ramsey, III; three brothers, and three sisters.

Helen is survived by her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Ramsey of Bethlehem, NC; grandchildren, Scott Ramsey and wife Andrea of Claremont and Elissa Kincaid and husband Tommy of Hickory; great-grandchildren, London, Rhiannon and Holly; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Viewmont Baptist Church with Rev. Earl Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service in the gathering area of the church.
