Heather Yvonne Duncan

Heather Yvonne Duncan, 48 of Catawba County went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at Atrium Health Carolinas of Charlotte.

Born on March 30, 1973 in Catawba County, NC she was the daughter of Claudia B. Vance and the late Jay Houston. Yvonne was a passionate coach, educator and a loving mother to her children.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Neva Lee Byrd and Claude Byrd of Hickory and Thelma Houston of Hickory.

She is survived by, her husband, Steve Duncan, Sr; 7 children, Kyle Anderton, Jr, Payton Anderton, Steven Robert Duncan, Jr, Matthew Clark Duncan, Katherine Anne Duncan, Avery Mae Duncan and Skylar Faith Duncan; her mother, Claudia Vance and her siblings, Tia Young and Trevor Vance.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 11:00 am with Pastor Ronnie Smith officiating. A graveside service will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Caring of Catawba County in Yvonne’s name.
