She was born on February 1, 1929, to the late Mack Fox and Mamie Martin Fox in Caldwell County. Eva was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Hickory. Eva enjoyed taking trips and camping with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cruises and traveling with her daughters. Eva's favorite hobby was quilting and giving them to family and friends. She was most remembered for her famous fried apple pies!
Along with her parents, her husband of over 50 years, Wyate Marcus Abernethy; a sister and three brothers preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughters; Carolyn Cline and husband Tim of Newton, Teresa Harrow and husband Dennis of Taylorsville, Nelda Miller and husband Bryan of Conover, grandchildren; Erin Weaver and husband Joe of Conover, Stacy Tucker and husband J of Newton, Keri Cline and Eric Hull of Clemmons, Kelley Tramble and husband Tyler of Taylorsville, Travis Cline and wife Joyce of Newton, Brett Cline of New York, Trey Miller and wife Hannah of Kannapolis, Isaac Harrow and wife Rita of Indian Trail; and eleven great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church, Hickory. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:45 until 11:45 a.m. at the church. Rev. Chris Dale will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
