Eugene Edward (Gene) Morgan, Jr., 84, of Hickory passed away March 23, 2023 at his residence. Born October 14, 1938 in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Eugene Edward Morgan, Sr. and Lillian Christensen Morgan.
A member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, he retired from Union Carbide where he was the purchasing manager of agriculture equipment products. Gene was a Captain in the Air Force, a Vietnam Veteran, a Mason, and was a member of the American Legion Post 48.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jeanne Bradner Spackey Morgan; son, William E. Morgan and wife Linda Bendixen Morgan; daughter, Laura Morgan; stepdaughters, Julie Spackey DiBartolomeo and husband Don, and Jerri Spackey Fink and husband Dan; grandchildren, Edward and William Morgan; step-granddaughters, Robin Fink and Samantha Spackey and sister, Barbara Bartow.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Northminster Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jill Isola officiating. Military honors will follow.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Northminster Presbyterian Church, 3730 North Center Street, Hickory, NC 28601.
