Estelle (Hudson) Ward

Born in Catawba County on April 29, 1923, she as the daughter of the late Ransom and Lula Propst Hudson.

In addition to her parents, her husband Vance Ward Jr.; her sons Vance David Ward, and Terry Lloyd Ward; her brothers Wilson Propst, Alvin Hudson, Jack Hudson and Willie Hudson and sisters Myrtle Wells, Edith Rhyne, Pauline Heavner, Mary Boyette, Edna McArdle and Dorothy “Dee” Clark preceded her in death.

She was a member of West Hickory Baptist Church, and she worked at Century Furniture in the swatch department until her retirement.

She is survived by her daughter Judy Burns (Dennis) of Hildebran; her son Steve Ward of Hickory; her daughter-in-law Jackie Ward of Morganton; granddaughters Sandra Knuckles (John) of Hickory, and Katie Ward of Cary; grandson Bryan Duckworth (Karen) of Hickory; great grandsons Carson Duckworth and Tanner Duckworth both of Hickory; brother-in-law Jim Clark of Biloxi, MS, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 11:00 am at Catawba Memorial Park with Reverend Scott Frady officiating, burial will follow service.

Memorials may be made to West Hickory Baptist Church Youth Fund.
