Edwin Howard Wright

Born September 11, 1922 in Cleveland County NC, he was the son of the late William and Laura Wright. He was a member of Viewmont Baptist Church and retired from General Electric Co. Edwin was a veteran of the US Army Air Corp. and a member of Hickory Masonic Lodge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank, Charles and Tom Wright; and sisters, Bobbi and Rebecca Wright.

Edwin is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris Ann Bowman Wright; daughters, Tricia Speight and husband Sherwin of Hickory and Jolette Wright and friend, Scott Hall of Conover; grandchildren, Erica Kouns and husband Andrew of Murrells Inlet, SC and Joshua Speight of Hickory; and great granddaughter, Rowan Speight of Hickory.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Viewmont Baptist Church in Hickory with Revs. Jay Robison and Sandy Hood officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

The Master Workman’s Sunday School Class of Viewmont Baptist Church will serve as honorary pall bearers.
