HICKORY – Earlie Franklin Goad Sr., 88 of Hickory died on June 29, 2023 at The Addision of Lincolnton.
Born on November 20, 1934 in Grayson County, VA to the late Earlie Alvin and Nannie Lucille “Bill” Jonas Goad. Earlie served in the US Air Force for 20 years as a medic, was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hickory, and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Freemason. His greatest love was people and their stories.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Rae Goad; sister Evelyn Goad.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Earlynne Bartley, Earlie F. Goad Jr.; grandchildren, Chandler Michael Bartley, Jake Weston Goad, Melissa Goad; and a brother, Dennis Edward Goad and wife Joann.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at 2 PM at First United Methodist Church of Hickory with Rev. Paul Christy officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 PM -2 Pm at the church.
Burial will be Monday.
