Bud was born May 26th 1932 in Burke Co. to the late John Dewey Bowman and Martha Louise Hendrix Bowman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Thelma Jean Keller.
Bud was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean War. He was a member of Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church and retired after working in various industries in the Hickory area. His passion was fishing and hunting with his beagle and bird dogs.
Surviving are his wife Carolyn Carpenter Bowman of the home, son, Rick Allan Bowman and his fiancé’ Ramona Frye, granddaughter Jessica Bowman Petree and husband William, great grandson William Petree IV, all of Hickory, brother Jackie W. Bowman and his wife Sandra, a sister, Judy Little and husband Ken of Conover, two aunts, Vivian Bassinger and Loretta Church, four nieces, Renee Poteat of Conover, Tammy Keller of Seattle, Washington, Debbie Bowman of Hickory and Robin Diane Bowman of Myrtle Beach, and 2 very special family friends, Susan Bowman and Becky Thompson.
Services will be Monday, April 8th , 2013, at 3:00 P. M. at Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Dale Faulkenbury, Reverend Paul Deal, and Reverend Jerry Lingerfelt officiating.
Burial will follow in Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #48.
The family will receive friends Monday from 1:45 until 2:45 P. M. at Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church.
