David Eugene "Gene" Yount

Gene was born October 12, 1922 in Catawba Co. to the late David Washington and Maude Eula Sigmon Yount. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Young Yount.

He was a lifelong member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church, retired from the US Postal Service as a mail carrier and served in the Navy in World War II.

He is survived by his daughter, Eugenia Stockman and husband, Wade, of Janesville, MN; granddaughters, Addie Stockman and Darsie Stockman; grandsons, Joshua Stockman and Joey Stockman all of Janesville, MN.

Services will be Friday, December 14, at 11:00 A. M. at St. Andrews Lutheran Church with Rev. Richard Fritz officiating.

Interment will be private at St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery in Newton.

The family will receive friends following the service, in the fellowship hall at the church.
