David Ervin Bowman

HICKORY---David Ervin Bowman, 83, passed away March 10, 2014 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. David was born September 13, 1930 in Alexander Co. to the late Solon and Virgie Fox Bowman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry Bowman and two brothers, William and Jimmy Bowman.He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, retired from Century Furniture after 44 years of service and loved gardening .Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Bowman; son, Chris Bowman of Hickory; brother, Hayden Bowman of Taylorsville; sisters, Martha Teague, Betty Mitchell and Naomi Bowman all of Taylorsville; granddaughters, Crystal Sigmon and Cathy Bowman both of Hickory; grandsons, Eric Bowman of Navarre, Fl and Scott Bowman of Bethlehem.Services will be Thursday, March 13, 2014, at 3:00 P. M. at Christ Lutheran Church with Rev. Richard Schwandt officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:30 – 2:45 P.
