NEWTON – Daniel Conrad Raper, 79 of Newton passed away on November 26, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 3, 1945 in Edgecombe County, he was the son of the late Russell Johnny and Mildred Solmon Raper. Daniel was a veteran of the US Navy and retired after 57 years of driving 18 wheelers. He was a wonderful husband, father, step-father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 38 years, Linda F. Raper; son, Christopher Raper and wife; step-daughter, Leslie Hall; grandchildren, Brooke Hall, Azlyn Hall, Lee Raper, Shanna Whaley and husband James; a number of great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda Braswell and husband Phil, Wanda Goodwin and husband Worth; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at 2 PM at Catawba Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Brown officiating.
